Your Guide to Owning and Operating Your New Espresso Machine
Congratulations on your recent purchase, and thank you for choosing CaffeTech Canada. We’re committed to helping you get the most out of your espresso machine from day one. For shipping and tracking info please visit our shipping policies
To ensure a smooth and successful experience, please review the following Welcome Protocol. This checklist includes everything you need to know before unboxing, setting up, and operating your equipment.

1. Before Unboxing — Important Packaging Instructions
- Retain All Original Packaging: Please keep all original packaging for a minimum of 30 days. In the event a return, exchange, or warranty shipping is required, manufacturers often mandate original packaging to process claims or transport units safely.
- Inspect on Arrival: Take photos of the packaging and equipment upon delivery. If there’s visible damage, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt to initiate a claim. Note that damaged outer packaging does not constitute a return.

2. Product Manual — Read First, Brew Later
- All new espresso machines include a manufacturer manual. The electronic manual could be located online at caffetech.com by searching under the resources tab of the product page related to the equipment. We strongly recommend reading the entire manual before installing or powering on your machine.
-
The manual includes essential information about:
- Initial setup and calibration
- Power and plumbing requirements (if applicable)
- First-use procedures
- Cleaning cycles and schedules
-
Warranty coverage and maintenance tips

3. Water Quality — Protect Your Investment
Espresso machines are highly sensitive to water quality. Improper water use may void your warranty.
-
We recommend using filtered, softened water that meets the following:
- TDS (Total Dissolved Solids): 50–100 ppm
- pH level: 6.5–7.5
-
Hardness: Less than 3 grains per gallon
- Consider a BWT Bestmax, Besttaste, or Bestprotect system. We’re happy to advise on the best water filtration for your area.

Do not use reverse osmosis water without remineralization, as this can be corrosive to boilers and affect machine performance.

4. Service & Technical Support
Our Service Department is here to support your machine long after purchase.
- We provide warranty-backed service, repair assessments, and diagnostics.
- Contact us at service@caffetech.com for any troubleshooting or to book a service appointment.
- Ensure your machine is registered for warranty purposes (if applicable).

6. Maintenance & Cleaning
Regular maintenance extends the life and performance of your espresso machine.
- Usage Intervals: Purge steam wand, rinse group head, empty drip tray
- Weekly: Back flush with cleaning detergent (if applicable)
- Monthly: Replace water filters or test TDS levels
- Annually: Schedule a tune-up or inspection

- Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery on unused machines in original packaging.
- Machines that have been used are subject to a restocking fee and are evaluated case-by-case.
- Return shipping is at the customer’s expense unless otherwise agreed upon.
- Please contact admin@caffetech.com for all return inquiries.

- Most machines carry a 1-year parts and labour warranty (coverage varies by brand).
- Warranty covers manufacturer defects — not misuse, scaling, or improper water use.
- Proof of purchase and serial number are required for all claims.
- We recommend logging your purchase and keeping a copy of your invoice and warranty card on file.
