Preventative Maintenance (PM) is exactly that—preventative. Regular maintenance is essential for every espresso machine, regardless of manufacturer or model, and is one of the most important investments you can make in the long-term reliability and performance of your equipment.

CaffeTech Canada's Preventative Maintenance Kits have been carefully assembled by Slayer to include the replacement of approximately a dozen critical wearable components located at key sealing surfaces, moving contact points, and safety systems throughout your SLAYER Espresso Machine. These components are designed to wear over time and should be considered your machine's first line of defence against unexpected downtime, costly repairs, and emergency service calls.

The PM components listed below are consumable service items and should be replaced at recommended service intervals of three, six, and twelve months, depending on usage and operating environment. We strongly recommend that your annual (12-month) preventative maintenance be performed by a qualified SLAYER-trained technician to ensure your machine continues to operate safely and at peak performance.

For customers choosing to perform their own maintenance, extreme care should be exercised. Proper tools, technical knowledge, and adherence to manufacturer procedures are essential to prevent damage to components or injury. Annual PM: Every Twelve Months

1. Drain steam and brew tanks.
   
2. Replace group gasket, inspect dispersion screen & screw, and portafilter baskets & springs as instructed in Quarterly PM.
3. Verify water against SLAYER's Water Treatment Requirements.

Pro Tip: During service and mechanical disassembly, clean and visually inspect machine for areas of concern or debris accumulation. Espresso machines tend to collect all matters of dust and coffee debris that can be troublesome down the road. A well maintained SLAYER is easier to service!

Rebuild:

1. Rebuild Steam Valve & Hot Water wand assemblies as instructed in Bi-Annual PM.

Replace:

1. Vacuum Breaker, Pressure Relief Valve, and Level Probe.
   
1. PRV discharge boot is not a PM component.
1. Apply several wraps of teflon tape to threads prior to installation.
   
1. Do not forget copper crush washers!

2. Calibrate Expansion Valve - V3
